Huge EHV Transformer

Weldall was honored and up for the challenge in building this huge tank for SPX Transformer Solutions based in Waukesha, WI. This is one of SPX’s largest EHV Transformers they have built. With the collaboration between Weldall’s Engineering department, Fabrication department and Bay 3, they made it happen. To put the size into perspective, here are some impressive numbers. For starters, the tank’s weight was 86,500 lbs when leaving Weldall to head to SPX. Once it left SPX to it’s final destination it weighed 531,400 lbs (shown in video). Mineral oil and final assembly took place when the tank arrived. Which brought the final weight of the tank to 928,100 lbs!
